This week members of our CJAP staff made a trip to Washington University for the Second Annual Statewide 7th Grade Girls STEAM Event.
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math)programs focus on exposing young girls to different career opportunities.
More than 500 girls from middle schools across Missouri attended the all-day event. They were able to try out a welding simulator and build towers using just spaghetti and marshmallows.
“It’s great to see their interest piqued once they get to do hands-on activities,” said Cathy Cook, CJAP welding coordinator.
