Article / South Tech High School Signing Day

South Tech High School Signing Day.

As is traditional in the world of athletics, more and more high schools are hosting official signing days to officially welcome high school students into technical and trades positions.

South Tech High School in south county St. Louis held their first-ever Signing Day today. Sponsored by Skills USA and Klein Tools, seven high school students made commitments today to future careers. Two of these students have committed to working for our union contractors. Today Joe Lynch signed his official paperwork with Paric alongside Paric reps Michelle Jahns and Bill Lowery, while Collin Rockwell signed official papers supplied by Terry Nelson, Jr. with Builders' Bloc. Also in attendance from the St. Louis - Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council were Scott Byrne and Dan Nieswander. Craig Hood and R.J. Catizon represented the Carpenters St. Louis Joint Apprenticeship Program.

Expectations from South Tech and participating employers indicate that this new event will grow exponentially in years to come. Paric has already committed to sponsoring South Tech's Signing Day in 2020.
